India Ask WhatsApp Put Filter News Hoaks

Government of India take firm steps to eradicate hoaks in circulation through Instant message Whatsapp . Through the Ministry of Information Technology, India asked WhatsApp to act quickly on the hoaks news spread on the instant messaging platform. Even if necessary, WhatsApp is asked to apply a special filter to check the validity of scattered serial messages. This action is a government response to the spread of hoaks news through a chain message that triggered vigilante action some time ago. The Indian government said there were a number of messages distributed by irresponsible people containing hoaks and provocations. "We have conveyed this to the management of WhatsApp and they have been told to take immediate action and corrections necessary to prevent false messages from spreading.

It is perfectly natural that India is paying more attention to the hoax issues spread through the chain message on WhatsApp. The reason is in India, there are often cases of violence and vigilante that originated from the issue of hoaks in WhatsApp. "We have also asserted that the platform will not be able to let go of responsibility just, especially when this technology is abused by irresponsible people," they continued.

This assumption is triggered by the hoax of the WhatsApp chain message which is then proven to be false. Previously there are also hoaks scattered in Bengaluru, India. It contained 400 children traffickers hanging around to kidnap children from local residents. As a result an innocent man was victimized over this incident.
